Two SMSI® products
are at an advanced stage of development/early commercialization:
- A continuous, minimally
invasive glucose monitoring system, consisting of
an implantable glucose
sensor and watch reader (pictured above, right),
that is designed to measure and display glucose levels
every few minutes without user intervention. This
product has entered the FDA regulatory process. Currently,
it is in pre-clinical studies.
- A highly sensitive,
fast response, robust oxygen
sensor (pictured above, left). This sensor has
enabled a 510(k) approved, handheld metabolic rate
monitor that was commercialized. This oxygen sensor
can enable many other medical, industrial, and environmental
applications, and is
currently offered for sale.
The core technology platform may be used
to detect other molecules
